Canada will announce the details of the 2021 Parents and Grandparents Program tomorrow, Tuesday July 20, at 2 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST).
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has scheduled a press conference in Surrey British Columbia featuring immigration minister Marco Mendicino who will provide an overview of the format of the PGP 2021 and the intake period.
Previous information by IRCC suggests this year’s PGP will follow a similar format as the PGP 2020. In last year’s PGP, IRCC opened an expression of interest window between October and November 2020. During this period, eligible Canadian citizens and permanent residents completed an online application notifying IRCC they were interested in sponsoring their parents and grandparents to obtain Canadian permanent resident status.
